Knit Picks has updated their online Knitting Room and added a lot of new features and functionality.
KnitPicks.com is a terrific online knitting store. It was instrumental in introducing excellent quality circular needles, and they are committed to providing knitters with great products are reasonable prices.
Visit the new Knit Picks Community at the Knit Picks website. Those familiar with their previous site will enjoy this updated version. Meet and chat with knitters around the world as well as all of Knit Pick’s staff. Join a “knit-a-long,” browse their tutorials, read about daily goings-on and new/favorite products, and see why their motto is “All Things Knitting.”
One of the nicest things about this community is that it is a source of information. Knit Picks has a collection of tutorials with general and specific knitting instructions and a robust search function that will help anyone learn to knit or get better at it. The tutorials are easy to understand, are very accessible, and have a terrific glossary.
Join one or several of the Knit Picks’ Knit-a-longs that are always going on at the website. Knit along with dozens of other knitters, and meet some new friends along the way. Learn how to knit a new project, stay motivated with a bigger project, or just knit along to be social, show off any progress, and maybe give some tips.
Create an individual member profile to post photos and to see what everyone else is knitting through the site’s photo management function. Share and visit projects and knitting events. Then, visit the forum to post comments, questions, feedback, and requests. The discussion area is a great place to connect with other knitters to get and give advice, share recommendations, and enjoy knitting stories.
Kelley Petkun, owner of Knit Picks, shares a weekly podcast. The topics range from author interviews to knitting tips for everyone. They are a perfect companion to knitting a latest project. Take a listen to a few while relaxing with a latest knitting project. A pop-out music player is available to stream them or they can be directly downloaded. An RSS feed is also offered.
Knit Picks’ staff knitting blogs about the latest happenings at the Knit Picks office in Vancouver, Washington. Follow the Staff Picks’ blogs for personal recommendations and sneak peeks into “all things Knit Picks.” Petkun also posts blogs.
