A beginner knitter uses needles and yarn to craft beautiful things that even someone just starting out can be proud to make.

You may be a beginner knitter or want to become a knitter and have arrived here because you have a desire to learn to knit. Or you may already know how to knit and want to further your knitting skills.

Even though your experience with this hobby may be limited there is no need to worry. You may feel a little intimidated and wonder whether you will be able to learn this craft. But fear no longer because there is an abundance of help and many talented and experienced knitters here to guide the way.

You are no different from many experienced knitters. It may puzzle you to hear that and you may question the validity of this statement. But this is why you are just like any other person who knits. There was a time when every knitter stood just where you are and wanted to learn to knit too. With some patience and some perseverance they have been successful by following tips for knitting and by practice.

Some knitters are undoubtedly more adventurous than others. There are knitters who have no desire to tackle multicolored patterned garments or cable knits, but instead prefer to craft simple, quick and easy projects. Both of these types of knitters are accomplished in their craft and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done.

And it doesn't matter how far along a person is in their knitting experience, there is always something new to learn. So you see, you too can learn to knit and knit well.

Acquiring Knitting Supplies

There are always different needles to experiment with and a plethora of types of yarn to try and no end to color choices of yarn that one can select. There is also a vast supply of patterns available on the internet (often free!), in book stores, through knitting magazines, department stores, as well as craft and yarn supply shops.

By frequenting weekend garage sales and second hand shops, you may be surprised to find very good knitting supplies at bargain prices. Variety is the spice of a knitter's life and boredom never a visitor.

Knitting a scarf or another simple project may be the beginning of a love affair with two sticks and a ball of yarn. Longtime knitters find they have developed a craft that produces many beautiful items for themselves and others. Gifts made with knitter's tools express much love and thoughtfulness. P.S. The people in your life need not worry that their gifts henceforth will be only knitted socks or mitts. No, the world of knitting provides a much broader selection of items that you can knit. The only limit will be your imagination!
